IA 440. Seminar On Issues In Information Analysis:

This course will focus on important issues in the theory and practice of information analysis, as the basis for implementing team projects in the IA Capstone Seminar.  Students will individually identify, analyze, plan, and report on a feasible capstone seminar project.  Students will then organize teams and develop plans to complete a subset of the most promising projects in the Capstone Seminar.

Learning Objectives:

Students will further develop their knowledge and skills to:

  1. research, identify, and determine the feasibility of an  IA project.  
  2. identify the ethical-legal context and issues raised by an IA project
  3. present written and oral reports/briefs establishing the feasibility of an IA project
  4. form teams and assign roles with associated tasks to complete an IA project

Course Outline

  • instructor lead review of several IC and CI project case studies
  • identify potential IA projects for the Capstone Seminar
  • written and oral reports/briefs on potential Capstone Seminar projects
  • select the most promising of the potential projects in the final Capstone Seminar project set
  • form teams, assign roles and tasks to complete the Capstone Seminar projects
  • path-forward reports by the capstone project team
