ISAT: Academic Programs

ISAT students are motivated to solve real human problems. To do this requires the integration of scientific and technical knowledge, as well as skills in institutional design, communication and economics. Throughout their course of study students get involved in a wide range of activities requiring the integration of science with other dimensions, such as:

Recommending new ways of delivering services at the university or the surrounding communities, for example alternative energy systems for residence halls, campus bus services, and parking, Upgrading High Voltage Transmission Equipment and implementing Wind Energy or finding new environmental practices less destructive to the Chesapeake Bay for in the farming communities. [We’re part of the Chesapeake Bay Watershed]

While pursuing their degree, ISAT students can study abroad [ISAT in Malta or the University International Programs Office] , participate in honors programs, prepare for graduate professional careers in medicine and veterinary sciences, teaching, or business school.

Students can also obtain additional certifications through short-courses, such as Hazardous Waste Handling and Operations [contact Dr. Steve Frysinger]

Internships are especially recommended for all ISAT students.
