Geographic Science Program

  1. Service Award - In recognition of outstanding commitment to the JMU GS Program ( 2 students)
  2. Outstanding Student Award – In recognition of outstanding academic achievement in the GS program (2 students)
  3. NCGE Scholar – In recognition of continuing commitment to the discipline of Geography (1 student)
  4. Best Honors Thesis –If ISAT wishes to nominate an Honors Thesis in Geography, for this award, it must be submitted to the Honors Program by the first week in April
  5. Geographic Science Scholar  The student with the highest GPA 

ISAT Program

  1. The Spirit of ISAT Award – in recognition of outstanding commitment to the ISAT program; service to program and students; involvement in recruitment activities; exemplary positive attitude toward the program
  2. Best Honors Thesis   If ISAT wishes to nominate an Honors Thesis in Integrated Science & Technology for this award, it must be submitted to the Honors Program by the first week in April.
  1. Integration Award – a senior project award; in recognition of the best integrated senior project; most representative of breadth of program; emphasizing the “I” in ISAT.
  2. Methodology Award – a senior project award; in recognition of best experimental design; best written and organized paper; innovative approach in dealing with a new or existing problem.
  3. Community Impact Award – a senior project award; in recognition of outstanding senior project with greatest community (including international) impact; project with recognizable community outreach component; project focused on a pressing local need; project focused on students’ home community.
