Before exiting GRASS you must close your active monitor. To close the
active monitor (x0 is used for this example).
- Type d.mon
stop=x0
- stop=x#:
the name of the monitor to open
Your active monitor will disappear.

Once your monitor is closed you can exit the GRASS program. To exit GRASS:
An exit message will be printed to the command line interface that is
similar to Figure 6.1 below.

Your prompt will return to the standard Linux prompt. Before logging off
the computer you must close your command line interface terminal. To close
the terminal:

Before leaving the lab you must log-off and turn-off the computer.
- Remove the Linux boot disk from the 3.5" drive.
- Click on the programs menu button on the task bar.
- Click on "Logout".
- Select "Logout", "Halt" or "Reboot"
- Click on "Yes".
