What is the IMPORTANT text?

The red text labeled IMPORTANT are critical notes about the tutorial or the GRASS program. Please make sure you read and understand all of these notes.


What do the command descriptions mean?

  • command -flag parameter=value....
    • -flag: description of flag
    • parameter=value: description of the parameter
      • options: possible value list

IMPORTANT: Some GRASS commands can be used interactively. Typing these commands without any flags or parameters will cause the command line interface to prompt you for the necessary values.


How do I use the index?

The index is alphabetically organized by "How-to-do" certain actions. Clicking on an action in the index will take you to the portion of the tutorial that shows you how to perform the action.


What are the web links?

First and foremost the links provide a number of resources that were utilized in the completion of this project. Secondly, this web site is merely a brief overview of GRASS and its capabilities. The links include connections to other web sites that provide additional information that expands on the data covered in this site.
