New Department Head Named for Integrated Science and Technology
Eric Maslen, Ph.D. will join the Department of Integrated Science and Technology as Department Head in June 2010. Dr. Maslen received his doctorate in mechanical engineering from the University of Virginia in 1991 and is currently a professor in UVA’s Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. Dr. Maslen’s research is in controls, magnetics, and rotating machine dynamics with special application to magnetic bearings. He holds seven patents, and serves actively as a consultant to industry, government agencies, and other academic organizations
