Our ISAT graduates are employed
In the Public Sector,Graduates of ISAT are in demand in local, national and international governmental or non-profit contexts, to analyze policy issues, helping organizations to understand and improve complex regulations. For example, ISAT graduates are working on technical programs in the U.S. Geological Survey, Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, U.S. Department of Energy, Military Services and Intelligence agencies, regulatory bodies, and in non-profit or service organizations, such as Public Information Research Group, in education, at the School of Field Studies (Costa Rica), among many others.Some students have joined the Peace Corps or other international services to work abroad.
In the Private Sector ,Graduates of ISAT work in industry and in educational contexts. They work in biotechnology research labs, for energy transmission and telecommunications companies. They help on consulting projects to develop new products or market them; and they work in research divisions to analyze public issues. ISAT geographers with geographic information systems experience are in high demand in a wide variety of mapping related careers. Others work in international relations and development work. For example, ISAT students have found employment with Earth Satellite Corporation, Space Imaging, Lockheed, SPOT Image, Logicom, consulting firms, Essex Corporation, SAIC, Pacific Meridan, Booz-Allen & Hamilton, and in non-profit or service organizations, such as Public Information Research Group, in education, at the School of Field Studies (Costa Rica), among many others. Businesses interact with ISAT programs through the ISAT Innovative Alliance
Some students further their education in Graduate Schools, in a wide variety of programs in the pure and applied sciences, policy, law, medicine, and international relations or geographic sciences. Finally a few students take time off to travel, start businesses, or gain life experience.
Undergraduates majoring in either Geography and Integrated Science and Technology participate in senior capstone experiences – work internships, foreign study or senior projects, often leading to post graduate employment or further education.
