ISAT Enviroment Sector Enviroment Sector Activities

Introduction

The Environment Sector of the Integrated Science and Technology (ISAT) Program of James Madison University (JMU) is intended to prepare students to apply the products of environmental science to practical, real-world problems in manufacturing, business, and government. Graduates with this concentration will comprehend the technical and social aspects of environmental issues, will take a systems approach to the analysis of particular environmental management problems, and will select and apply the appropriate information, procedures, and tools for each industrial, management, or regulatory problem they encounter. While under the stewardship of the ISAT Environment Group, the Environment Sector curriculum team includes many other faculty from the College of Integrated Science and Technology (CISAT) representing diverse backgrounds and research interests.

ISAT students pursuing the Environment Concentration must take three 400-level courses of the Environment sector (ISAT 420-427), and one other course (ISAT or otherwise) approved by the Environment Concentration Advisor, Dr. Steven P. Frysinger. Dual concentrations are encouraged, and a course from another ISAT Sector is often approved toward this end.
